Finite-Time Information along a Sequential Allocation Path
Abstract
Finite-time knowledge-gradient analysis and a sequential budget framework share a terminal decision but need compatible observation assumptions. A practical test retains the order of measurements and evaluates complete runs at common costs. Binary or dependent records should not inherit a normal-reward guarantee merely because the same budget terminology is used. This focused synthesis develops an empirical comparison that preserves the terminal action, observation process, and total verification cost. Its proposed tests are prospective; no new simulation run, model-training result, or intervention effect is reported.
